17. Joseph4 Boak 2 (Joseph3, William2, John1) was born in Barton, Westmorland Co, England BEF. 2 JUN 1747. His body was interred May 31, 1809 in Barton, Westmorland Co, England.

He married Mary Allison in Barton, Westmorland Co, England, June 24, 1767. Mary was born in Unknown. Mary died 1820. Occupation: occupation unknown in Homemaker.

Occupation: occupation unknown in HusbndmnInnKeep. He was christened in Barton, Westmorland Co, England, June 2, 1747. Joseph Boak 2 was married to Mary Allison at Barton Church on June 24, 1767 and was described as a Husbandman (Mrs. Howells defines: owning a small holding and engaged in agriculture.) They were then residing at Crook-a-Dyke, Barton. Their first child, John, died within the month. Two other births were recorded at Watermillock, the second being a daughter Mary, 6/3/74 she through whom the Boak line is traced. At some point Joseph gives up his farming interests and becomes an Inn Keeper at Eamont Bridge. Two other baptisms are attributed to this couple which took place at St. Andrews in Penrith in 1786 and 1788. (See Pedigree Chart.) They apparently move back to the Yanwath area sometime between 1774 and 1786, possibly in 1780 as this is the year of his father's (Joseph 1) death and his bequest from the will.

child 36 i. Mary5 Boak 2 was born in Watermillock, Cumberland Co, England BEF. 6 MAR 1774. Her body was interred February 1863 in Clifton, Westmorland Co, England. She married Robert James in Bolton, Westmorland Co, England, ABT. 1794. Robert was born in Lazonby, Cumberland Co, England ABT. 1770. His body was interred March 1853 in Clifton, Westmorland Co, England. Robert participated in the Extra 4 event. Robert participated in the Extra 0 event. Occupation: occupation unknown in Miller. child 37 ii. John Boak 6 was born in Crook-A-Dyke, Westmorland Co, England BEF. 9 NOV 1770. His body was interred December 3, 1770. He was christened in Crook-A-Dyke, Westmorland Co, England, November 9, 1770.

child 38 iii. Sarah Boak 2 was born in Watermillock, Cumberland Co, England BEF. 1 JAN 1772. She was christened in Watermillock, Cumberland Co, England, January 1, 1772.

child 39 iv. Christopher Boak 4 was born in St. Andrew's, Penrith, Cumber.Co, England BEF. 4 APR 1786. He was christened in St. Andrew's, Penrith, Cumber.Co, England, April 4, 1786.

child 40 v. Hannah Boak was born in St. Andrew's, Penrith, Cumber.Co, England July 6, 1788.
