He married Lydia Soule BEF. OCT 1705. Lydia was born in Dartmouth, MA ABT. 1685. Lydia was the daughter of George Soule and Deborah. Lydia died WFT Est. 1723-1780 in Prob. Little Compton, RI. On 5 6 mo. (Aug) 1706 William Brownell Jr. and wife Lydia of Dartmouth, husbandman, sold land in Dartmouth formerly owned by ther father Geroge Soule, to William Soule of Dartmouth, husbandman. On 7 Feb 1706/7 William Fobes of Little Compton sold two 15 acre lots in Little Compton to William Brownell Jr. On 28 Oct 1717 William Brownell of Little Compton sold the same two lots to Joseph Wilbore Sr. No probate record of later Bristol Co LR found for William Brownell.
William Brownell and Lydia Soule had the following children:

4 ii. Rejoice Brownell was born July 29, 1707.
5 iii. Sarah Brownell was born June 26, 1709.
6 iv. Mary Brownell was born June 18, 1712. Mary died July 6, 1736 in Dartmouth, MA, at 24 years of age.
+ 7 v. William Brownell was born February 2, 1714/15.
8 vi. Martha Brownell was born February 22, 1717/18. Martha died July 4, 1736 in Dartmouth, MA, at 18 years of age.
9 vii. Benjamin Brownell was born June 24, 1720.
