Sint Maarten – March 22, 2022
We cruised overnight and arrived in St. Martin around 7:30 in the morning.
After the boat docked and we had breakfast, we left for a walk into Phillipsburg. We had been in St. Martin several times in the past with the Burnses. Susan had lost one earring from a lovely pearl set and we hoped that Dazzling Gems would be able to replace it. We walked from the Cruise Port up to Front Street and found the business. They had moved down the street but were close.
The particular earring was no longer made, but they gave us credit for the one we were returning against our purchase of a lovely new pair. They also repaired one other pearl earring which needed help. After that, while the repair was being done, we wandered around and found a Tommy Bahama shirt for me and a small purse, which Susan had been searching out since we were in Paris. We then caught a taxi back to the Cruise Terminal, had lunch, and the ship set out on its trip across the Atlantic. Here are last views of Sint Maarten.
In the afternoon, Susan had a hair appointment and then we went to a lecture by the Ship Historian and Susan went up to a discussion of the bridge group. We will be playing tomorrow afternoon. Fitting that it will be Wednesday afternoon, while our Duffy’s group in Kennebunk will also be going on. After that, we relaxed in the room and then went to dinner.
Sailing the Atlantic until next week.
