Saturday, March 26 – Continuing across the Atlantic
We got a notice today that the Viking Sea has been fighting rough seas and has “technical issues with one of the four engines”. So we will not be going to Madeira and will arrive in Cádiz later than expected. So we will be going for the next four days on the ocean followed by Gibraltar and the Med.
Anyway, we had the usual day, going to fascinating lectures by the resident historian and the former MI-6 intelligence and spy expert. We had three lovely meals. We again ate at the Chef’s Table, but the highlight was the cream of tangerine cold soup with triple sec. Yes our initial lunch course was liquid Creamsicle. Yum.
We then went for a walk around the Promenade Deck on deck 2. It is a quarter mile and was pretty windy. The railing was salty also.
We also read for a while and relaxed. Now we have another spring ahead hour coming up and we are watching TV.
We also made an appointment to talk to a cruise consultant on Monday. We are thinking of a a cruise from Buenos Aires around Cape Horn to Santiago de Chile in early 2024.
