First Day in Iceland
We arrived around 7 am in Keflavik International Airport. Iceland is on GMT, so though our bodies said 2 am, it was really morning. Neither of us had slept very well.
Anyway, we got picked up at the airport by the representative for SAScars to go get our rental. We got a diesel Dacia Duster, which is similar to a RAV-4, but with a six speed manual transmission. Dacia is the Romanian subsidiary of Renault.
We arrived in Reykjavik around 9 and found a spot for breakfast with wifi. We relaxed there until our room became available at 11. We are in the beautiful Scandinavian-style modern Opal Apartments. We then took a long, much needed nap.
We walked to a grocery store and bought dinner. In the evening we went on our first attempt at seeing the Aurora. I got a photo of Ursa Major, but didn’t see much in the sky but clouds. Got back around 11 pm and went to bed.
