Monday, Jan 30 – Iceland

We got up after 10 am, missing some of the short daylight. After breakfast we bundled up, due to the gale force winds, and headed to downtown Reykjavik.  We went to several different stores, especially those with Icelandic sweaters. Susan got a purse and I got a great sweater. We had lunch at Cafè Babalu. Who can not love Icelandic lamb soup in a place named after a Ricky Ricardo song.

It was starting to rain and we went to a few more places and headed back to the apartment. I took a picture of the Hallgrímskirkja church, which we hope to visit later in the trip.

We relaxed in the apartment and continued to hear the winds. In late afternoon I went to the Vínbúðin Borgartúni, aka state liquor store, and bought some wine to take home. It was down by the harbor and I took some pictures of the mountains
