Day 3 – September 17 – Eidfjord

We got up early so we could see the beautiful, although rainy fjord as the ship docked.

We took a morning bus trip to the Hardangervidda Nature Center in the nearby largest National Park in Norway.  Very interesting  panoramic movie followed by lots of stuff on local flora and fauna, especially reindeer. 

We returned to the ship, had lunch, and then proceeded back out for a lovely long walk, which had lots of ups and downs.  It reminded us that we are not in as good a shape as we were in the Camino.  We saw a beautiful river and lake as well as Viking burial grounds.

We got back to the ship and relaxed and in the early evening we set out back down the fjord, going under a huge suspension bridge before dark. We finished the evening off at Manfredi’s, the Italian restaurant on the ship.
