September 24 – Berlin
On Monday morning, first thing, we got on a train for a 2-1/2 hour ride to Berlin. Then into a bus for a quick tour and then we were on our own for about 5 hours. We went to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, very interesting. Lots of information to digest.
After that we went to find the Spy Museum. It started to rain briefly, so we went for lunch. After lunch, we found the Spy Museum and spent another informative time there. It started raining after that so we had coffee. After it stopped, we walked back the long way past the Holocaust memorial, through the Brandenburg Gate, and down the Avenue of Lindens, which is lined on both sides with, you guessed it, lindens.
Then back on the bus for a Berlin traffic jam, back to the train and back around 8:30 PM, just in time for our dinner reservations. Long tiring day.
