1. William¹ Jones was born in Ireland 1820. William died July 29, 1888 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at 68 years of age. His body was interred 1888 in Calvary Cemetary, Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA.

He married Catherine Crowley in Ireland. Catherine was born in Ireland 1820. Catherine was the daughter of Daniel Crowley and Mary Crowley. Catherine died October 4, 1883 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at 63 years of age. Her body was interred in Calvary Cemetary, Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA.

William participated in the emigration event ABT. 1850. From John O'Neil Notes: William Jones was born in Ireland in 1820 (1880 census, gravestone). He evidently came to america between 1850 and 1853 since son Thomas was born in Ireland and son William was born in Woburn. By occupation he was a currier in the local tanneries. Records indicate that he lived in North Woburn on Maine Street, near Mountain Street (1868), Nichols St (1871) and then 23 Pool St., his last residence. He married in Ireland, Catherine Crowley, daughter of Daniel and Mary Crowley. (the latter evidently did not come to America) William may be William Jones, laborer, born Ireland, age 32 who came to America 20 May 1851 aboard the S.S. Parliament. (List #409 of Boston Index). There also may be a relationship between William and Lewis Jones, the latter also a Woburn currier born in Ireland. Both named sons William and Edward.

William Jones and Catherine Crowley had the following children:

2 i. Mary Ellen² Jones was born in Ireland 1845. Mary died 1927 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at 82 years of age. She married Eugene Reddy in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, September 29, 1863.

+ 3 ii. Thomas H. Jones was born May 23, 1850.

4 iii. Elizabeth Jane Jones was born in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA March 7, 1853. Elizabeth died November 20, 1927 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at 74 years of age. She married Charles L. O'Neil in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, June 15, 1879. Charles was born in Cambridge, Middlesex Co, MA December 8, 1848. Charles was the son of Thomas O'Neil and Jane McKenna. Charles died June 16, 1924 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at 75 years of age. (See Charles L. O'Neil for the continuation of this line.) Eliza Jones, daughter of Catherine and William Jones, was born on March 7, 1853 (or 9 Nov 1856). She married Charles L. O'Neil in June 1879 in Woburn. They lived on Nichols St., Main St. and School Street, except for a few short stays in Somervill, they lived most of the time at 23 Pool St. in North Woburn.

+ 5 iv. William H. Jones was born June 20, 1853.

6 v. Edward Jones was born in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA June 29, 1859. Edward died September 29, 1859 in Woburn, Middlesex Co, MA, at less than one year of age.
