After yesterday’s 11 hour trip, today was going back up the Seine toward Paris. While cruising we saw the white limestone cliffs so famous across the English Channel. We got up very early for a long day of bus riding. It took 2 hours to get to the first bathroom break and then an additional hour to the first beach. In the process, we went through Caen, and saw the castle of William the Conqueror, the winner of the Battle of Hastings in Continue Reading
We are in Rouen, the capital of Normandy. We had a morning cruise and docked during lunch and then had a walking tour of the town. The big draw of the town is Joan of Arc. She was captured by the English and imprisoned and executed in Rouen. This morning we had a briefing on Continue Reading

We had a long bus tour today. We managed to get up early to have breakfast (Viking muesli) and catch the bus. We had a whirlwind tour of Paris, repeating several places we had gone last week. Then we had a stop in the Latin Quarter to have coffee and bathroom, and then lunch near Continue Reading

We took a cab to the Jardin des Plantes and as long as we were there tried to get into the Zoo, but school vacation week being what it is, we failed. We had a lovely lunch at Jardin des Pâtés (get the pun!!) and started walking back. Do not use Apple Maps for walking Continue Reading
