50th Anniversary Trip to Kauai – 10/6 to 10/9

On Thursday, 10/6 we made a trip to the National Tropical Botanical Garden, which is the place where the first Jurassic Park movie was filmed. We all took a bus down to the McBryde Garden for a self guided tour. We saw the path where Laura Dern was chased by a velociraptor and the kids managed to get to the trees where the eggs were found.

After getting home, we relaxed and they went to the Poipu Beach, where they saw more sea turtles and a monk seal.

Friday, October 7 the family went back to the beach club and in the afternoon, Ed, Rob and Anna took a helicopter tour of the island, including more Jurassic Park locations. More pictures to be added here once phones are unloaded soon.

Saturday, October 8 was checkout and airplane day. The checkout went well by 10 AM, but the flights were at 9 and 10 PM. Abby came up with the idea of a day pass at the Sheraton Coconut Beach in Kapaa, so we all had a great time there at the pool and beach. Red eye flights through LAX and everyone arrived home on Sunday evening.
