Tuesday February 7 – Predator
We went on another tour today. It featured a bus trip up a mountain to where the movie Predator was shot. Anyway, we started in the morning with our tour guide, Ernesto, who was first giving a city tour before the trip up the mountains. We changed from one dilapidated, open-air bus to one slightly better and proceeded.

We first went through the old town with Ernesto trying to be heard over the sounds of the bus. We stopped at a jewelry factory and Susan found fire opal earrings, which is something she has been searching for for along time. They will be finished and brought to the hotel in the next few days.

We then drove past the Malecón area where we had been in previous days. We then proceeded up the mountain roads in a similar way as we had when we went to the Botanical Garden. We got a much better view of the big rocks in the bay, known as the Arches or Los Arcos.

We then proceeded up the road and turned off on a dirt road. This was not as far up as the Botanical Garden trip. At that point we stopped for another tequila tasting. They had a chocolate one that was sort of like Hershey syrup with a little tequila. I still like the American oak aged ones.
We then continued up the dirt road for quite a while. The road is rough and narrow and better suited for the ATV’s that were on it.

The end of the road was a restaurant and zip line place which is where the movie “Predator” was filmed. We had a large lunch and relaxed for a couple of hours. We did not do any zip lining!
We then headed back down and to the hotel and are now relaxing.
