Wednesday 2/8 to Friday 2/10

Wednesday was a lazy day around the pool for the Burns’s and walking and reading for the Boaks. In the afternoon, we decided to go down to the resort’s beach area for a bit, but the waves, undertow and grainy sand made a quiet float in the ocean impossible. In the evening, we went to the Marina fo dinner at the Argentine restaurant, Rincón de Buenos Aires. Excellent beef with nice sangria. We did not order Mexican coffee, but it made quite a show at another table. On the way back there was a Night Heron on the banks and the iPhone 14 pro proved its merit as a camera.

On Thursday, John rented a car and we drove around the north side of the bay to quiet little villages of Lo de Marco and San Francisco. We stopped for lunch in the less quiet surfing community of Sayulita. The puma crossing signs were on the side of the road (this is a stock image from the internet but you get the idea).

We returned to the resort in time for the man from Marino Jewelers to deliver Susan’s earrings which she ordered on Tuesday. We then did quite a bit of packing, and then went over to the Marina for Thursday market night. John & Vicki had dinner before market and Tom and Susan went to the market first. We had our final dinner at Amá before returning to the room for more packing. Here are some pictures from the market of a man who finger paints and some pictures made of dyed straw

Friday morning we finished packing and relaxed a little at the lobby area which was a favorite reading area. If you zoom in, you can see Susan and Tom on the patio.

We then took a taxi to the airport, check in and plane from PVR to DFW left around 12:30. We got to the wonderful Dallas Fort Worth airport and went to “Customs”, where we went through immigration (we have Global Entry, so this amounted to smiling at a face reader and then the ICE man welcomed us back to the US. We then waited for our luggage to come off the plane and rechecked if for the remainder of the journey. At no point did anyone need to look at our passports or ask about customs duties. After a thrilling ride on the SkyTram, we got to our gate and boarded the plane to Boston. We then got the bus to Portsmouth and picked up the car and are now home. While away, our amaryllises did a major show. Lila and Max are happy to see us.
