Start of Viking British Isles Explorer Cruise

While doing final shopping before leaving Air France sent a message that our plane was going to be late, although not late enough to miss our connection in Paris. Our limo could only be moved by half an hour, so we had a long time in Logan Airport. We had a lovely dinner at Legal Seafoods and eventually got on the plane. It was early, giving us about 90 minutes for the connection. Charles de Gaulle Airport is unbelievably busy, and there are not signs to tell you what to do. Luckily an “info” person got us out of one line and into another. While in the right line, a security staff person had a sign that said “Bergen” and we told him we were going there. He pulled us out of the line and walked us through each step, security, immigration and such. He then led us through back roads in the airport until we reached our gate. We were the last people on the bus. So we got to Bergen and are now on the Viking Venus.

Unfortunately, Alice and Bert Ferran, who are traveling with us, we not as lucky. The amount of walking in CDG required a wheelchair for Bert and they took a half hour to find it, so they missed the only Paris to Bergen flight of the day. They are now going through Amsterdam to get here some time today.

Here are a couple of pictures from the state room.
