Day 15 – 23 Jan – Puerto Montt
An actual shore excursion!!! We had an early room service breakfast and were off on a tender to shore around 8 AM. Puerto Montt is a 45 deg south, so roughly the Canadian border of New Hampshire and Vermont, and a lovely summer day. After an hour viewing volcanic remnants and classic snow capped conical volcanoes. The most recent eruption in the area was in 2015. We arrived at Emerald Lake. There we had a catamaran ride around the lake and getting impressive views of Osorno volcano.
We then reboarded the bus and headed to Petrohue Falls.
We then went for lunch in Puerto Varas, a city on Lake Llanquihue, the largest freshwater lake in Chlle.
We then returned to the ship and relaxed in the Explorer Lounge (deck 7 fore) and had cocktails. We had a lovely dinner at the Chef’s Table
