Cancun – Riviera Maya – 26 Oct – 1 Nov 2024

Friday, October 25
Our plane left before 8 am from Logan Airport, so we were picked up at 4:30 for the trip. The plane left pretty much on time and we arrived at Cancun Airport around 11 AM (one hour back). We got our luggage and found the shuttle to take us to the Vidanta Rivera Maya resort. John & Vicki met us and we had lunch at the Green Break cafe at the golf course. After that, we when to the Grand Luxxe lobby and waited until the room was available. We went to the room, unpacked and changed clothes. John & I went to the Jade shop to get groceries and sandwiches for dinner.

Saturday, October 26
Relaxing morning and was the first of many coatimundi in the tree outside our room.

Lunch and Swimming at Grand Luxxe Pool and its “The Burger Custom Made” restaurant. We went back to the room and went out for supper at Salum, one of the many nice restaurants in the resort. Salum has several restaunts and we went to “Waves & Tacos” for and Mediterranean Tacos.

Sunday, October 27
After and early breakfast, we went to the transportation center and took a small bus to Tulum, and ancient Maya city. On the way, as seems to be normal for Mexican Tourists, we were taken to a jewelry store and a tequila shop. We were then taken to Tulum and walked for 15 or so minutes and got to the ruins. We walked around (pictures will follow) and had lunch at a Subway (using coupons provided by the tour).

After returning from Tulum, we relaxed and John & I went over to Jade to pick up crepes and dessert for dinner at Jade.

Monday, October 28
Lunch/Swimming GL Pool, dinner at Havana Moon.

Tuesday, October 29
Lunch/Swimming at GL Pool. During drives we saw may more coatis. Salum for dinner (BBQ Beef Ribs & Gyoza) Good decision to eat inside because of downpour
